  • In April 2020 a website was launched with the specific aim of conveying messages to the public around energy efficiency. became much more widely used after August 2020 when Tower Marketing was contracted to prepare and execute a one-year public education communication plan. The target for the website was to gain 100 users per month. In November 2020, the website had 2,886 users and in December 2020 this remained high at 1,659, far exceeding the targets. Social media is also gaining traction fast. After launching in August 2020, a goal was set of 500 followers on the Energy Cayman Facebook by August 2021. As of September 9 2021, the Facebook site has 534 followers. The contract for Tower Marketing ended on May 31 2021 and no posts have been added since July 3. With the NEP shift to the new Ministry of Sustainability and Climate Resiliency, a new communication strategy is being planned which will incorporate the Ministries initiatives, which link with the NEP.
