The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is responsible for enforcing the proper handling, storage and disposal of waste fuel. An Integrated Solid Waste Management System (ISWM) is currently in development which will include the conversion of waste to energy and the disposal of waste oil fuel. DART has been selected to design, build and maintain the Waste-to-energy (WtE) project at the current landfill location by 2024. Until this facility is completed, a public awareness campaign is required on the existing protocols, particularly for persons that repair vehicles at home or in unofficial locations. This is will be included in the communication strategy for 2022
